Unprofessional Wrestling: Sitcom-mania

The 3ManBooth DVR records anything with “Wrestling” in the Title or Description. Good or Bad,
We’ll Share Its Unprofessional Wrestling

This Fall TV Season has brought about more sitcoms than past years, all of them are vying to fill the void left by 6 friends in their late twenties / early thirties living in Chicago (We’ll never forget you, Happy Endings!). With all this competition, every show has to do what it can to earn a spot on our DVR. One of ABCs new sitcoms, The Goldbergs, has already earned its spot by appealing to ThreeManBooth’s lowest common denominator: The Simpsons Wrestling!

The Goldbergs is based on videos show creator Adam F. Goldberg took of his family during the 1980’s. Each episode takes place in the year 1980-something, allowing it to jump around the decade adopting pop culture references. The episode “Why’re You Hitting Yourself?” has a a nod to the rise of the Rock n’ Wrestling Era; Adam, played by Sean Giambrone, wears a Hulkamania t-shirt. The kicker is the rest of the episode has nothing to do with wrestling! It’s about scrambled cable channels and match-making. Or something; we stopped paying attention once the red and yellow appeared.

And with that, The Goldbergs has earned a season pass. In truth, the show has so far proven itself to be both funny and heartwarming, showing an awkward family grow up in an awkward decade. And it surely is an improvement on what we originally thought it was going to be: A bio-pic of Bill Goldberg, which we have NO INTEREST in watching or owning on DVD. So, as long as there are references to NON-Goldberg Wrestling and ALF, we have no regrets giving it a Season Pass.

Daniel Bryan  vs. Randy Orton Contract Signing:

Justin Roberts introduces “The Face Of The WWE” Randy Orton, then Daniel Bryan.

Triple H introduces the Special Guest Referee, who “needs no introduction.” Triple H welcomes the Showstopper, The Icon, Mr. Wrestlemania, Mr. Hall Of Fame, A Founding Father of D-Generation X, and his best friend, The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels.

Stephanie McMahon lets Randy Orton talk first since he’s the Face of the WWE. Randy Orton gives Daniel Bryan credit where credit’s due because every week he beats him down, but Bryan keeps getting back up. Orton says this Sunday, after the beating he gives Bryan at Hell In A Cell, Daniel Bryan will not be getting right back up. Orton says he’s survived against The Undertaker at Hell In A Cell, and that he’s beaten Sheamus and John Cena inside the Cell, so he can say with the utmost confidence, Bryan has no idea what he’s getting into. Orton says he’s going to make sure that Daniel Bryan’s first Hell In A Cell will be his absolute last, then signs the contract.

Daniel Bryan tells Randy Orton that he expects nothing less from him but threats like that. Bryan compliments Orton for pushing him to the limit, but says that if it weren’t for The Shield, the Authority or Triple H, Bryan would be standing in this ring right now as the WWE Champion. Daniel Bryan says that they both know that Bryan is capable of smashing in that face of the WWE. Bryan tells Orton that he’s got “Two Words For Him.” Not Suck It, but Thank You.

Daniel Bryan thanks Orton for pushing him and allowing him to prove that he’s more than just a B+ Player. Bryan thanks Orton for allowing himself to prove that he’s a corporate patsy and for exposing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon as selfish, insecure, spoiled brats that they really are. Daniel Bryan signs the contract.

Triple H takes the mic and tells Daniel Bryan that he’s seen guys like him come and go a million times. Guys like Edge, Jericho and Rob Van Dam. Triple H says those guys were very popular, but they’re not the one, but they were never the one.

Triple H says that if any of those guys had been the face of the WWE back in the day, everyone would be working for Ted Turner right now.

Triple H tells Daniel Bryan that once Bryan steps inside the Hell In A Cell, he’s going to prove to the world that he’s nothing but a B+ Player. Bryan says that Triple H talks big in his suit, and then tells him to trade it in for some wrestling gear and he’ll show Triple H how good he really is. Triple H tells Daniel Bryan that if he gets back in the ring, which he is perfectly capable of doing, he’s going to fight a star like The Undertaker, The Rock or Brock Lesnar and thati t sure as hell wouldn’t be Daniel Bryan.

Triple H says that he only fights A+ Players and that A+ Players wouldn’t waste their time fighting Daniel Bryan and neither will he. Triple H says Shawn Michaels shouldn’t have waisted him time training Daniel Bryan. HBK interrupts and says he didn’t waste his time training Daniel Bryan.

Shawn Michaels asks Triple H what’s happened to the guy who raged against the machine with him, drove the tank into WCW, and was half naked on WWE TV with him.

Shawn Michaels tells Triple H that he doesn’t care that he’s the COO or that he trained Daniel Bryan. HBK cares that the WWE Universe voted for him to guarantee a new WWE Champion at Hell In A Cell and that’s what he’s going to give them. Randy Orton chimes in claiming that HBK has an agenda against him.

Triple H gets in Shawn Michaels face, then tells Randy Orton that at the end of the day, Shawn will do what’s right. HBK says he will do what’s right for the business he loves and for the business the WWE Universe loves.

Shawn Michaels asks Triple H what he has against Daniel Bryan, and asks if it’s because he’s small, has an insanely grotesque beard, marches to the beat of his own drum, or is it because after everything Triple H has thrown at him, it turned out that Bryan proved him wrong. Randy Orton says that Daniel Bryan can’t beat him and that this Sunday, he’s going to take this “A+ Player” straight to hell.

Randy Orton starts doing the world’s most demonic “YES!” chant until a truck pulls into the RAW arena. It’s actually Big Show!

Big Show gets out of the truck and tells Randy Orton to turn around. Orton turns right around into the “Solid Knee Plus.”

Daniel Bryan and Big Show lead the WWE Universe in a “YES!” chant.

I Was There: New York Comic Con 2013

In “I Was There” 3MBooth provides a first hand account of a things we attend.

There was something for everyone at this year’s New York Comic Con. The celebration of nerd culture via comics, television, movies and videogames filled every corner of the Jacob Javits Center for four days. During the weekend, we posted some of our favorite wrestling themed costumes as we stumbled across them: on Thursday, we crossed paths with the Ultimate Warrior; Friday, we went toe-to-toe with the Rowdy One; on Saturday, we were asked to “follow the buzzards” by Bray Wyatt himself. And that was only some of the costumes on display! We asked our Twitter followers who were fortunate enough to attend this year’s NYCC to send us any pictures.

We put our photos of The Undertaker and Mick Foley together with contributions from Joe Munafo (), who after wowing us with his Bret Hart costume last year, wowed us again with an alternate attire Hitman costume. Another contributor was The Think Tanque, who went old school with a Macho King Randy Savage ensemble, complete with scepter. Check out our other pics on our Tumblr and, if you have any you’d like to add, let us know. Right now, we can only imagine what next year will bring!

Snapshots: Power Diva

In Snapshots, 3MBooth searches for images to share.

Every week, WWE.com releases their Power Rankings to show who’s makin’ moves within the company. This week, heading the top (or bottom) of the list, depending on which way you read it, was a controversial entry.

That’s right! Total Divas’ own JoJo, last seen on RAW teaming with Natalya and Eva Marie has made it on the list! Despite doing absolutely nothing in the match!

We don’t know the criteria for making it into the Power Rankings, but clearly, JoJo accomplished something that maybe we were all missing. Maybe it was her cheery attitude? Or the buzz she was getting on Social Media? Maybe WWE has a Wild N’ Crazy quota and they had to fill it. Who knows! All we know is JoJo is impressing somebody. Maybe, we will see her accomplish more on RAW this week. If not, at least she’ll provide the Wild ‘N Crazy Hair.
