Memorabilia Lane: Brooklyn Brooklyn

In Memorabilia Lane, We’ll Discuss the Significance Some Kind of Collectible
(T-Shirt, Poster, Action Figure) has on us and its Relation to Wrestling.

NXT’s debut in the tri-state area is only a few days away. On the day before SummerSlam, NXT will have their version of a PPV, NXT Takeover, at the Barclays Center. This marks the first time NXT will host a live WWE Network Event outside of Full Sail University. And it’s SOLD OUT!

The NXT Galaxy in the WWE Universe will do their best to represent Brooklyn well. The WWE designed a logo / t-shirt for the event that reflects the apparel of the ~~New Jersey~~ Brooklyn Nets, the New York basketball team that calls the Barclays Center home.

It certainly helps that the Nets color scheme is black and white. Wrestling has a successful run with black and white t-shirts, like the nWo, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Brock Lesnar, all the way to Paige. But since this will be Brooklyn and Barclays, the alternative to New York City and MSG, we’ll need some alternate attire as well.

In Highlight Reel, 3MB will check out funny and interesting wrestling videos.

The internet had some fun with the Straight Outta Somewhere meme, a website where anyone could use the logo from Straight Outta Compton to customize their own photos.

The movie is about the formation of the N.W.A, the rap group based out of Compton, CA (not the National Wrestling Alliance). But rap is not out of place in the WWE. Yes, the WWE doesn’t have talent on the level of the N.W.A. (or Drake) but some Superstars have some surprising skills.
