Jon Stewart says the reason he interfered was because he could not allow John Cena to break Ric Flair’s 16 time record.

Ric Flair tells Jon Stewart that his actions messed everything up and that he actually endorses John Cena as the guy to eventually break the 16 time record. Flair and Stewart are interrupted by John Cena.

Despite Jon Stewart’s explanation, John Cena doesn’t wanna hear it. Cena is tired of Jon Stewart’s jokes and also stresses that Stewart messed up everything by allowing Seth Rollins to be WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion.

Next, we get an 8 Man Tag Match between Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, Ryback and Randy Orton vs. Rusev, Kevin Owens, #ScumbagSheamus and #BigShowRuinsThings

During the match, Lana and Summer Rae got into another catfight.

Big Show accidentally knocks out #ScumbagSheamus, allowing the Good Double Dare Team to get the win.

Backstage, John Cena plans to interrupt Seth Rollins’ Trophy Celebration. Unfortunately for Cena, The Authority has him ejected from the arena for the rest of the night.

Before Seth Rollins’ Trophy Celebration begins, The Authority leads the WWE Universe into singing “Happy Birthday” for Vince McMahon, who turned 70.

Seth Rollins comes out to accept his trophy, but not without a Rollins Acceptance Speech.

The Statue is finally unveiled.

At a TV Taping, Brie Bella tells Nikki Bella that WWE wants her to sing her own entrance music. Nikki immediately wants to do the same thing, thinking she is the better singer of the Bella Twins.

Snapshots: White and Gold (and Gold!)

Between NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and SummerSlam, a trend started to appear. Bayley, The New Day and Seth Rollins had two things in common.

  1. They were all victorious in their matches: Bayley won the NXT Women’s Championship. The New Day won the WWE Tag Team Championship. Seth Rollins retained his WWE World Heavywright Championship. Oh, he also won the United States Championship!
  2. They were all wearing White and Gold ring attire!

which caused the Internet Artists to get their pens out and capture this moment in artist form!

3 Count: Cool for the SummerSlam

The Good, The Bad & The Cheesy

The biggest party of the Summer is here! And what’s a party without music? Nothing, that’s what! The WWE made an interesting choice with this year’s official SummerSlam theme: on the surface, “Cool for the Summer” or Demi Lovato don’t seem to fit with the WWE. But, after a quick look, “Cool for the Summer” is the perfect song for this year.

Here’s why:

3MB_WWE_SummerSlamLogoOff the bat, this song is catchy. Like, really catchy, not “burrowed into our brains after hearing it repeatedly on RAW for 3 hours” catchy. In the course of one RAW, the song went from being “that SummerSlam song” to “Cool for the Summer.” We’ll actually listen to this after the PPV is over. Continue reading →

I Was There: NXT Albany 5/16/2015

The NXT Championship match was a three way battle between Tyler Breeze, Finn Balor and Champion Kevin Owens. Again, the Armory is not Barclays. So when the PA system went out just before Finn Balor’s entrance, we were able to see something unique. Balor came out to the WWE Universe singing his theme!

But technical issues aside, the match saw alliances change just as quickly as the momentum did. Owens and Breeze – against the will of Tyler – teamed up to attack Balor but it was doomed from the start. Kevin Owens has shown again and again that he doesn’t really play well with others.

Balor rallied a few times, even hitting a beautiful Sling Blade clothesline on Breeze.

3MB_NXTAlbany_20150516_0086But ultimately Owens captured the victory amid the chaos. Breeze prevented Balor from hitting the Coup de Grace and, in that moment, Owens connected with the Pop up Powerbomb. Balor wasn’t finished though: he delivered a post match Coup de Grace for the benefit of the NXT crowd.

Balor won the NXT title in Japan but their rivalry started long before that. At NXT Takeover, Owens and Balor are taking their feud to the next level. Tyler Breeze, to his credit, may not be in the main event tonight but he’s facing Jushin Thunder Liger, one of the the most legendary wrestlers ever. Back in Albany, Balor proclaimed that “We are NXT.” He may have been referring to the audience but he was also speaking to the wrestlers. We are all ready for NXT’s next step in the world of wrestling.
