In Highlight Reel, 3MB will look at funny and interesting wrestling videos

This week on Monday Night RAW, John Cena – against all odds and with the help of Sting – was able to defeat Seth Rollins, Kane and The Big Show to not only gain momentum going into the Royal Rumble but also was able to get Team Cena  – Erick Rowan, Ryback and Dolph Ziggler – their jobs back. It’s a good thing too. 2 weeks without the WWE can do strange things to a WWE Superstar. Rowan probably went back to his vineyard and Ryback probably curled up with a good book (The Secret) but what about Dolph Ziggler? If a Show Off shows off and there’s no one around, does he make a sound? Can one steal the show if there’s no show to steal?

What a Maneuver: Holy Shynron!

In What A Maneuver, 3MBooth looks at moves that make us say What A Maneuver!

High Flying maneuvers are part Athleticism, part Science, part Art and part Luck. It’s why the phrase “high risk, high reward,” is associated with them. But wrestlers carry that concern with them as they fly through the air. Shynron, though, seems to shrug that off each time he takes flight.

3MB_CHIKARA_KOT2014_0287Our introduction to Shynron was during Chikara’s King of Trios 2014. He competed in the 2 day mini-tournament for the title of Rey de Voladores or King of High Flyers. Not only did he advance to the finals but he won, after hitting this move:

3MB_CHIKARA_KOT2014_0285We can’t count the rotations. How he’s able to get more than 450 degrees in this move is beyond us. He might just be a magician and this is an optical illusion. But that’s not the only time Shynron has defied math, gravity or logic.

Brie Bella is facing Summer Rae on RAW. The Total Divas make fun of Summer Rae. Natalya compliments Summer Rae’s hair, but no one believes her.

Paige sticks up for Summer Rae, saying she was the only person who was her friend when she first arrived. Paige’s good comments mean nothing. Natalya “I can buy better.” Alicia Fox says I can buy better. Alicia Fox and Natalya start dancing around while Paige is upset they’re making fun of her friend.

Highlight Reel: NJPW on AXS TV

In Highlight Reel, 3MB will look at funny and interesting wrestling videos

We’re stil buzzing from Wrestle Kingdom 9, the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) / Global Force Wrestling (GFW) Pay Per View that aired live from Japan a few weeks ago. It could be the amount of caffeine we ingested to stay awake for a 2am – 6am EST Pay Per View. It could be the incredible feats we saw, like Ibushi’s suplex from the apron to the ring on Nakamura. It could be hearing Jim Ross call wrestling and Matt Striker “mark out, bro” again. Or it could be that we may have already seen the match of the year for 2015 on just the fourth day in the calendar year. Whatever the reason, we were excited to see more of NJPW; they will have a weekly show airing on Fridays on AXS TV. And based on this trailer:

So That Happened: #RAW Recap (01/12/15)

John Cena talks about how riled up New Orleans is and says it’s good to be back in the city that hosted Wrestlemania 30. Cena continues to hype New Orleans and Bourbon Street, then says despite The Authority being back in power, this week’s RAW won’t be like last week’s.

John Cena says he can’t believe he works for two people (The Authority)who got their jobs back after their whipping boy held a Hall Of Famer hostage and expected Cena to gamble with his life. Cena defends his choice, calling it the right thing to do, then mentions Triple H. Cena hypes Triple H’s accomplishes as a WWE Superstar and says he will only be remembered as a slimy, backstabbing, power hungry, sociopath who wants to make everybody’s lives miserable.

John Cena addresses The Authority firing Ryback, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler, then asks the WWE Universe if any they want to see any of these people tonight. After a loud “YES” chant, Cena tells The Authority that the people want them back. Cena tells everyone at home to use the hashtag #AuthoritySucks to voice their displeasure.

John Cena says he has a plan B. Cena addresses his match against Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship, then says his plan is to win the title, then go leave with it until The Authority gives Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback their jobs back.
