In “I Was There” 3MB provides a first hand account of a things we attend.
Sometimes the IZOD Center didn’t get its due. In terms of arenas in the New York / New Jersey area, it was in the shadow of Madison Square Garden aka the mecca of professional wrestling. In terms of stadiums, it lies literally in the shadow of MetLife Stadium. All three of these venues were vital for Wrestlemania 29 weekend. MSG hosted the Hall of Fame, MetLife contained Wrestlemania and the IZOD Center was the home for Axxess and, more importantly, the RAW after Wrestlemania. That was the event that left people talking. Now, with the IZOD’s doors being closed, the WWE returned to say goodbye to an old friend.
Among those on the farewell show was Dolph Ziggler. The IZOD Center probably serves a special memory for him; it’s where he won the World Title after cashing in the Money in the Bank on Alberto Del Rio on the RAW after Wrestlemania 29. This night, Ziggler had his eyes on another title: he competed in a Triple Threat match against Luke Harper and Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship. Barrett had some bad news for Ziggler but at least Ziggler was able to steal the show one more time at the IZOD Center.
Another Superstar that left their mark at that RAW is the The Ryback. He gave John Cena the Shellshock to the shock (and delight!) of the WWE Universe. This time, his opponent was Kane and Kane was determined to not be the next on The Ryback’s hit list. He attacked The Ryback mid-entrance!
Kane’s onslaught didn’t end there. He hit the Big Guy with everything he had. The Ryback rallied and eventually caught the Authority’s Favorite Demon with the Meathook clothesline and the Shellshock.
