What a Weekend! We knew Wrestlemania Weekend would bring about all sorts of wrestling related events but the options that we were presented with were more than we anticipated. We expected the WWE to pull out all the stops for the “Superbowl of Wrestling.” Between going to Fan Axxess at the IZOD Center, The Hall of Fame at Madison Square Garden, Wrestlemania 29 at the MetLife Stadium and Monday Night RAW at the IZOD Center, the WWE showed us why Wrestlemania is an exciting time. We tried to capture the buzzing activity of each place and each crowd with Photobucket Slideshows, linked below.
This weekend wasn’t just about the WWE. Each year, the city that hosts Wrestlemania becomes a beacon for professional wrestling. Many companies found spaces in the New York / New Jersey area to show their talents: ROH, TNA, PWS, EVOLVE, SHIMMER, DragonGateUSA, Kaiju Big Battel. We wanted to take in all of these promotions but were only able to catch two of them, in addition to the WWE: Ring of Honor held Television Tapings on 4/6 and DragonGateUSA held Mercury Rising at Wrestlecon on 4/7.
Wrestlemania Weekend brings about a renewed interest in attending live wrestling; it really does bring out the best in everyone from everyone. That infamous crowd from the post Wrestlemania RAW was the result of wrestling fans being satiated at every turn, by every promotion. We encourage you to check out any live shows in your area in the next coming months to capture some of the Wrestlemania afterglow. Also, if you are not attending Wrestlemania live next year (or, preferably, the post Wrestlemania RAW), please check any of the live iPPVs airing that Wrestlemania Weekend. You’ll be swept up in the excitement!
