So That Happened: #RAW Recap (11/11/13)

Paul Heyman Returns:

Paul Heyman sits in the middle of the ring in a neckbrace legbrace and wheel chair, holding his crutch crutches as Curtis Axel stands behind him.

Paul Heyman blames CM Punk and Punk’s attack as the reason for him in this condition. Heymain claims that CM Punk wouldn’t be able to injure him by himself and that Punk had help from multiple people. Heyman blames the big, ugly dummy, Ryback. Heyman says he took Ryback under his wing and offered him the chance to be a Paul Heyman Guy (Which he never accepted), and claims that Ryback, who likes to be Fed More, bit off a lot more than he could chew.

Paul Heyman also blames the WWE Universe because they encouraged CM Punk to climb the cage and deliver a beating to him. Heyman says this is the fans fault, and they cheer. Heyman says that he came here tonight because he needed a room full of witnesses, who could testify to the fact that he went public with the following intentions: Paul Heyman promises to return with a vengeance. Heyman claims he’s to hover over CM Punk like a sword of Damocles. As Heyman continues his testimonial, he’s cut off by CM Punk’s music.

Cheap Pop: Brothers Of Destruction Reunions

The Brothers Of Destruction Reunite On Smackdown (Kinda)

BigShowKaneTakerText_3MB

Even when they’re not on the same page, The Brothers of Destruction have a way of understanding each other that other people do not have. Back in November 2005, Kane interrupted a match between Rey Mysterio and Big Show, attacking Mysterio. After dropping Mysterio with a Double Chokeslam, Kane and Big Show were going to further their demolition of the 619 luchador until The Undertaker interrupted their plans.

What does Kane do when confronted by his big brother? Rather than attack Taker, solidifying the union of ShowKANE, the Big Red Monster said, “Screw it!” and walked away, leaving his partner Big Show alone with The Undertaker. Naturally, The Undertaker bested The Big Show, indirectly allowing Rey Mysterio to pick up the DQ victory. But the fact that The Undertaker kept Kane in line, without saying one word, proved that blood is thicker than the Big Show.

Anytime The Brothers Of Destruction reunite, it’s a treat for the WWE Universe. With Kane’s recent promotion to D.O.O. and The Undertaker down in Death Valley, plotting the eventual demise of The Shield, no one knows when we will see the duo together again. But hopefully, it will be soon. The Royal Rumble is just around the corner…

One More For The Road:

In 2012, The Brothers Of Destruction reunited when The Undertaker came out to save Kane, possibly as payback from that “Heidensky” incident, from an onslaught of Superstars, that…let’s be honest, Kane probably could’ve handled himself. Regardless, The Undertaker and Kane make quick work of them in this video, furthering their bond in the process. Enjoy and go see Marvel’s version of The Brothers Of Destruction in Thor: The Dark World.

So That Happened: 11/04/13

The McMahon-Big Show Settlement:

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon call out Big Show. Big Show comes down to the ring.

Stephanie McMahon tells Big Show that they all agreed to settle, then asks what he wants. Big Show says he wants a broom so that Stephanie McMahon can hop on it and fly back to Connecticut. Triple H cuts Big Show off and if he wants to stand there and make Sophomoric Barbs, he can trade Sophomoric Barbs with the best of them.

https://twitter.com/KeepItFiveStar/status/397572450285674496

Triple H asks Big Show what this is all about. Triple H makes a comment about Big Show being broke and assumes this is about money. Triple H asks Big Show how many zeros will he need to write on the check to bail him out, and Big Show responds by saying, that this isn’t about money and that he doesn’t have money problems, because he doesn’t have any money. Big Show says that this is about him being in front of the WWE and being able to perform in front of these people. Big Show says despite how hard Triple H makes it to work here, he just wants his job back.

Triple H mocks Big Show for wanting his job back, then almost insults Big Show, but Stephanie McMahon calms him down. Big Show mocks Triple H for being “too angry.” Stephanie McMahon asks Big Show if he wants his job back, and Big Show says he does. Stephanie McMahon gives him his job back, and Big Show celebrates with a “YES!” Chant.

https://twitter.com/InstantRandy/status/397572686026506240

Big Show says it feels good to have his job back, but there’s just one more little thing. Big Show says the “World’s Largest Lawsuit” go away, he thinks “The World’s Largest Athlete” deserves “The World’s Largest Bonus.” Triple H gets upset, but Stephanie McMahon calms him down. Big Show says it’s not about money, and what he really wants, is to be the “Face Of The WWE.”

Stephanie McMahon snaps and asks Big Show if he’s looked at his own face in the mirror lately. Triple H calms Stephanie McMahon down as Big Show smiles. Suddenly, The Shield comes out.

https://twitter.com/InstantRandy/status/397572956840157184

Big Show tells Triple H to “tread lightly” and that what he wants and deserves is a WWE Championship match against Randy Orton at Survivor Series. Triple H tells Big Show that he’s lucky he has his job back, so he needs to get the hell out of Hunter’s ring before he leaves him in the ring, in a puddle of his own blood. Big Show asks him if he’s sure and positive about it. Triple H says he is. Big Show says okay, then walks off giving up.

While saying goodbye, Big Show says that since he didn’t get the title match, his attorney will be in touch with the board of directors early tomorrow morning, and he’ll complete his task of owning all of them. Big Show wishes them goodnight, but Triple H stops him. Triple H calls Big Show back to the ring and says…

TripleHOkayText_3MB

Rather than accept this, Big Show eggs Triple H on and makes Triple H say that he has his match at Survivor Series several times.

Triple H tells Big Show that since he works for the WWE again, he’s going to have to compete tonight. Triple H puts him in a 4-on-1 handicap match against The Shield and Randy Orton.

Big Show is distracted by Kane allowing Randy Orton and The Shield to continue their attack on Big Show. Randy Orton hits Big Show with an RKO. Kane starts tossing chairs in the ring as Randy Orton and The Shield use the chairs to beat down Big Show.

Big Show gets a Triple Power Bomb from The Shield through the table.

3 Count: Go To Sleep

In 3 Count, Three Man Booth will Discuss Wrestling & Wrestling Related Music:
The Good, The Bad & The Cheesy

Even though it’s been 2 years, CM Punk’s now infamous pipe bomb promo is still a moment that wrestling and non-wrestling fans hold in high regard. The moment that ushered in the Summer of Punk is responsible for much more than a change in wrestling. ThreeManBooth was started, in part, to make wrestling fun again. And we’ve found 3 rap songs that are not only tributes to CM Punk but also incorporate the “Pipe bomb” promo in some way.

Papoose sampled the line, “In anyone else’s hands, this is a microphone; in my hands, it’s a pipe bomb” for the song… “Pipe Bomb.” That’s the extent of the Punk references in the song, though that line is repeated a lot. The rest of the song, I think, is about Papoose being better than everyone else in New York City; he was either inspired by Punk’s proclamation of self or was doing what the majority of rap songs do anyway. Either way, this connection to CM Punk is a step above Papoose other vague wrestling footnote. Bobby Heenan famously referred to the finishing move of Tatanka, Native American Wrestler, as “the Papoose to Go.” He was slyly referencing the similarities between a papoose carrier, a type of baby carriage seen in Native American culture, and a Samoan Drop, Tatanka’s finisher. Regardless, Heenan’s influence is so strong that a generation of wrestling fans and Wikipedia grew up believing that “Papoose to Go” or, alternatively, “The End of the Trail” are actual names for that finisher. Sorry, everyone: they’re just jokes. Continue reading
