Professional athletes seem to be focused on one thing: getting their hands on the championship. In football, baseball and basketball, that usually means a ring. But that’s not what athletes want. Since the Green Bay Packers won the Superbowl, there’s been an increase in wanting a WWE championship title. David Ortiz wore a WWE replica title after the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. After LeSean McCoy of the Philadelphia Eagles won the rushing title for this season, he was given a World Heavyweight championship replica belt. Then, NBA Superstar LeBron James tweeted that he wanted a belt also. Everybody wants to be the man. So, how did the San Francisco 49ers top that? Well, they brought in the guy who can beat the man, the 16 time World Champion, the Nature Boy Ric Flair!

Snapshots: Respect the Buzzards

At the end of this week’s RAW, the last RAW of 2013, Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt Family. Based on the RAW Recap, the WWE Universe was left stunned and confused by the events: we don’t know if Daniel Bryan joined the Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan so he can teleport in and around ringside or  if he just looking for beard grooming tips. Or maybe the in-ring chemistry between Daniel Bryan and Luke Harper is so strong, that they’d rather team up instead of fight each other. Maybe Bucky Sentry saw this coming.

3MB_RespectTheBeard_FollowTheBuzzardsBucky created the image on the right, “Follow the Buzzards,” a clever take on Daniel Bryan’s “Respect the Beard” design. Maybe Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatt family is just the first step in putting together an all-bearded faction, like the ZZ Top of wrestling. Beard or Buzzard, you’re family.

I Was There: ROH Final Battle and WWE Live at MSG

In “I Was There” 3MBooth provides a first hand account of a things we attend.

The Holiday Season of 2013 brought us the gift of live wrestling. We were able to open one present early in the form of Ring of Honor: they held their last Pay Per View of 2013, Final Battle, at the Hammerstein Ballroom. This year brought us a Strap Match between Silas Young and Mark Briscoe. The Young Bucks and Adrenaline Rush got everyone excited with their high flying, non-stop theatrics. Kevin Steen and Michael Bennett had a Stretcher Match where Steen was the Santa of package piledrivers: he delivered 1 to Bennett, 1 to Bennett again (this time on a set of steel chairs) and a third to Maria Kanellis, proving that this Santa has no Nice list.

Daniel Bryan goes for a top-rope hurricanrana, but Harper counters with a Sitdown Powerbomb.

Luke Harper hits a release T-Bone Suplex on Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan goes for the “YES!” Lock but Luke Harper powers out and hits him with a big boot.

Post-Match, Erick Rowan attacks Daniel Bryan until he calls him off. Bray Wyatt gets in the ring.

Match 09: Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt charges at Daniel Bryan, then stops and turns his back to him. Daniel Bryan tries to attack Bray Wyatt, but Luke Harper and Erick Rowan attack Daniel Bryan.

Winner: Daniel Bryan (via DQ)

Post-Match, The Wyatt Family decimates Daniel Bryan. Bray Wyatt starts singing to Daniel Bryan, then tells him that this is where there story ends. Wyatt says that he has no more mercy left to give. Wyatt tells Bryan that this all could’ve been different, better and perfect, but this is Bryan’s fault. Wyatt plans to punish Bryan and demands that he opens his eyes and look at his dismay. Bray says this is the end, but Daniel Bryan agrees with him, saying he’s right!

Bray Wyatt asks Daniel Bryan to say it again and Bryan says he’s right. Wyatt demands Bryan say it again, then hands the mic over to Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan says Bray Wyatt is right and that he was always right. Bryan says no matter how many matches he won or how loud people cheered for him, the machine would never let him win. Bryan says the WWE Universe chants “YES” in every building he’s ever been to, and they don’t care. Daniel Bryan tells Bray Wyatt is his and asks to join the Family.

Daniel Bryan reaches for Bray Wyatt’s hand, but Wyatt steps back. Bray Wyatt demands that Daniel Bryan crawl to him. Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt do Wyatt’s pose, then Bray Wyatt hits the Sister Abigail on Daniel Bryan.

Bray Wyatt takes Daniel Bryan’s hand and says that this will change everything. The Wyatt Family leave the ring carring Daniel Bryan. They make it to the ramp, then let go of Daniel Bryan allowing him to walk to Bray Wyatt.

The WWE Universe chants “NO!” and “Daniel Bryan” as Bray Wyatt screams at Daniel Bryan to ignore the WWE Universe.
