RAW begins with CM Punk
After a CM Punk chant, Punk says he’s fired up to be here in Richmond, Virginia. Punk tells the WWE Universe that it’s the last RAW of 2013 and he’s excited. Punk says that in 2013, a lot of good and bad happened to CM Punk. Punk says that there’s ups and downs, but we wake up every morning with a smile on their face.
Punk corrects himself and says he doesn’t always has a smile on his face. CM Punk goes over his year 2013: Being the longest reigning WWE Champion of the Modern Era, facing The Rock, The Undertaker, making and losing friends in 2013, then beating said friends in 2013 with a Kendo Stick.
CM Punk confesses that he thinks 2013 wasn’t the Year Of Punk, then gives credit to The Shield for having a great year. CM Punk tells the WWE Universe to face facts that this year, The Shield has been unstoppable. Punk says he wants to end the year tonight and start 2014 off night. Punk is about to call out The Shield, but The Shield comes out.

Dean Ambrose tells CM Punk to finish his thought and it better be a good one. Ambrose wants Punk to give them a good reason to not end 2013 by ending Punk right now. After a loud CM Punk chant, Punk tells The Shield that the 3 of them can beat any one man. Punk says he’s not taking away anything from any of them as a unit, but he lives to be the best and wants to fight the best, one-on-one. Punk says that out of the 3 of them, one of them is the best.
Dean Ambrose tells Punk that if he wants to do this again, let’s do it again. Punk tells Ambrose he wasn’t talking to him, he was talking to Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, since he beat Ambrose several times. Ambrose gets angry and thinks Punk is joking, Punk just thinks Ambrose is the weak link. The Shield try to calm Ambrose down, but Punk tells Reigns to look at Punk when he’s talking to him.
CM Punk asks Roman Reigns if he’s number one in The Shield, but Seth Rollins cuts him off. Rollins says he’s the best and will take Punk on right now. Reigns cuts him off, and the two get into an argument. Reigns thinks Rollins is falling for his games, but Rollins just wants to prove that he’s just better than CM Punk. As Reigns and Rollins argue, a Roman Reigns chant breaks out.
Brad Maddox comes out and wishes the WWE Universe a Happy New Year on behalf of The Authority. Maddox makes a match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins for tonight.
Match 01: CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins crashes onto CM Punk with a Crossbody, but Punk turns it into an Anaconda Vice.
The Shield interferes and CM Punk breaks the hold. Seth Rollins goes for his finisher, but CM Punk turns it into a GTS. The Shield gets on the apron, which distracts CM Punk.
Seth Rollins uses his finisher on CM Punk, but only gets a 2 count due to the referee being distracted by The Shield. Seth Rollins tells The Shield to stay out of the match.
Seth Rollins dives as CM Punk, but gets knocked over the top rope onto The Shield.
CM Punk goes for a dive, but Seth Rollins his Punk in the head. Seth Rollins tries to springboard at CM Punk, but Punk hits the GTS.
Winner: CM Punk
Backstage: A shot of Kane’s mask is shown in a glass case.
Meanwhile, Brad Maddox tells the referee that they’re going to have an Intercontinental Title Match they can be proud of. Maddox is interrupted by The Authority. Maddox asks about The Authority’s holiday and they say they had a good one. Maddox says Kane is not here and wants to step up.
Daniel Bryan walks up and demands a match with Bray Wyatt. Maddox suggest that Bryan earns it by facing Luke Harper, then Erick Rowan, then if he’s successful faces Bray Wyatt. Bryan accepts the challenge as The Authority is impressed with Maddox’s skills. Stephanie McMahon tells Maddox to watch and learn as she announces the Main Event for the Royal Rumble.
Stephanie McMahon Announces The Royal Rumble Main Event:
Stephanie McMahon wishes the WWE Universe a Happy New Year, then talks about what the Authority would change in 2013. Stephanie says they wouldn’t change a thing about WWE in the year 2013.
Stephanie McMahon says that since they now have one, unified, WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Stephanie decides to take a look back at Randy Orton through a video package.
Stephanie McMahon says that Randy Orton had an amazing career and deserves every single accolade. Stephanie McMahon says that Orton is also a fighting champion, who will defend his WWE Championship in a Traditional Championship Match, against John Cena.
Backstage: Stephanie McMahon asks Triple H how she did, and he thinks it’s awesome because we’re going to find out who the man is. Triple H tells Stephanie McMahon that as big as her announcement is, wait till she hears what he has to stay. Triple H walks off as Stephanie McMahon wishes him good luck.
Match 02: Curtis Axel vs. Dolph Ziggler
Curtis Axel and Dolph Ziggler share their 2014 Resolutions. Long story short, they both want to be the best and come out on top.
Curtis Axel taunts, allowing Dolph Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Fandango charges at Big E. Langston but gets caught with a Belly-To-Belly Suplex. Big E. Langston hits a big splash on Fandango, followed by the Big Ending.
