I Was There: Wrestlemania 30

In β€œI Was There” 3MBooth provides a first hand account of a things we attend.

Tonight, NBC aired their Wrestlemania 30 special. They did their best to condense the “SuperBowl of Wrestling” into a one-hour show which is as impossible a feat as it was for Hulk Hogan to body slam Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania 3. That moment was on Hogan’s mind as he hosted the spectacle, which caused him to say “Silverdome” instead of Superdome, the name of the New Orleans venue.

3MB_20140406_WM30_0357Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock made appearances as well, partly to good-naturely rib Hogan about his mix-up but really to showcase the different icons of Wrestlemania through the years. But NBC covered this; let’s us this as a reason to go back and revisit Wrestlemania Sunday 2014 and something they didn’t cover.

Let’s talk Daniel Bryan since Wrestlemania 30 was his night. He had the first match of event (if we don’t count the pre-show’s awesome match of Rybaxel vs. Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans vs. The Usos for the Tag Team Championships) as he faced The Game / The Chief Operating Officer of the WWE, Triple H, who must have had a belly full of water for his ‘spit take:’

Snapshots: Destination X – Week 1

In Snapshots, Three Man Booth searches for images to share.

Back in June, TNA did 3 days of TV tapings in the Grand Ballroom, the venue above the Hammerstein Ballroom. It has been a place for wrestling over the years, from the early days of Monday Night RAW to tentpole locations for ECW and ROH. Now, with TNA making its debut, we had to attend. We don’t want to reveal any spoilers, but from this week’s show, Destination X – Week 1, there were 2 things we wanted to share.

Stephanie McMahon tells the WWE Universe that she stands before them a humbled woman. Stephanie says getting arrested is a life altering experience. Stephanie says she is the Principal Owner of WWE and represents 4 generations of McMahons. Stephanie says she also represents WWE, their shareholders, corporate sponsors and business partners, but now people can’t look her in the eye and all they see is a common criminal.

Stephanie says this experience has affected her professionally and personally. Stephanie says she looks in the eyes of her daughters, who can’t understand why their Mother was taken to jail. Stephanie claims her children are getting teased at camp and that their friends’ Parents won’t let them come over for play dates. Stephanie claims her family is scared for life.

At Ring Of Honor: War Of The Worlds, Kevin Steen announced that will be taking a step backΒ from pro wrestling to spend time with his family. Steen was rumored to beΒ entertaining the idea of centering his Β family performance in Orlando, but at PWG Eleven, Steen announced that heΒ moving to Mexico to help El Generico take care of the orphans.

Heyman says Lesnar officially announces his intention to conquer John Cena and take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam.

Paul Heyman says his client, Brock Lesnar acknowledges the divide for John Cena in the WWE Universe. Heyman mentions the fans who cheer Cena, and wear their green shirt and pump up sneakers, who chant “Let’s Go Cena.” Heyman mentions the fans who’s “Mommy’s don’t tuck them into bed at night” that will chant “Cena Sucks.”

Paul Heyman tells the WWE Universe that he doesn’t just hype for the sake of it, he shows historical facts and shoves it down their throats. Heyman shows the footage of Brock Lesnar conquering The Undertaker’s Undefeated Streak.

Paul Heyman says Brock Lesnar beat The Undertaker so bad, that the Chairman, Vince McMahon had to ride with Taker to the hospital because even the heartless Chairman, was concerned for a Deadman’s Life. Heyman tells Cena that same beating awaits him. Heyman says Lesnar will take John Cena down, punch his face in and be hurt by Brock Lesnar. Heyman says Lesnar will injure and mangle Cena, then F-5 Cena and strip Cena of the dignity of being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the same way he did way to The Undertaker and exposing the Streak as a myth.

Paul Heyman brings up the myth that John Cena is the greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champion of all time and his 15 World Title Victories. Heyman says that sounds like something worth conquering. Heyman recites the Brock Lesnar Version of the Pledge Of Allegiance, then calls himself the one behind the 1 in 21-1.

Paul Heyman says that at Summerslam, his client Brock Lesnar will defeat John Cena and become the WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World.
