Snapshots: May the Fourth Be With You

In Snapshots, Three Man Booth searches for images to share.

May 4th is the unofficial Star Wars Day (May the force be with you … May the fourth, get it? We explained it better before). This year is particularly eventful since the next installment in the Star Wars films will be in theaters in December. The second trailer from The Force Awakens had over 88 million views in the first 24 hours! A new record!

The trailer (and the upcoming movie) are inspiring the next generation of potential Jedi masters. Everyone wants to wield a lightsaber when they’re young, even WWE Superstars. The closet they come is a kendo stick; but, with the magic of Photoshop, Dean Ambrose wields a lightsaber with the best of them!

I Was There: WWE Axxess

In “I Was There” 3MB provides a first hand account of a things we attend.
FYI: It took us a while to go through all our Wrestlemania Weekend stuff.

In a wrestling packed weekend, you wouldn’t expect WWE Axxess to be a destination for matches. Axxess is the place for braving long lines to meet and greet WWE Superstars. It’s where they display their excellent memorabilia, like the Wrestlemania ring gear.

3MB_WWEAXXESS_20150328_0000But they also have live matches during Axxess. And you wouldn’t expect any of the Superstars from #NXTSanJose to be there, right? Certainly not for the morning session? Well that wasn’t the case for Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. They ain’t. … what’s the word?

3 Count: #NXTheme – A Winner is You!

In 3 Count, Three Man Booth will Discuss Wrestling & Wrestling Related Music:
The Good, The Bad & The Cheesy

The bracket’s over but business is not done. As part of NXTheme, we asked you to submit completed brackets during the first round and predict the winner. We had a number of submissions, which took us a while to get through. Some people were close but the voting through a lot of people for a loop. There were strong pro-Charlotte and pro-Sasha Banks contingents. But the deciding match-up was the one that went into overtime: Sami Zayn versus Finn Balor.

3MB_NXT_20150327_0154If Sami Zayn had won the overtime, then Harp2012 would have won our tournament. He had Zayn beating Balor and defeating Kevin Owens in the finals.

3mb_nxtheme2015_MikeHarp_2ndBut, because of the run-off, Harp2012 came in 2nd with an impressive 25 of 31 brackets. Continue reading

I Was There: #NXTSanJose (03/27/15)

In “I Was There” 3MB provides a first hand account of a things we attend.
FYI: It took us a while to go through all our Wrestlemania Weekend stuff.

On paper, Wrestlemania 31 did not seem like it was going to be exciting. Even though the line-up included Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Sting, Triple H, Ladders, Battle Royals and yes, even a Big Show… the feeling prior to Wrestlemania was lackluster. In contrast, the excitement for the Friday show that the Event Center in San Jose State University was palpable. All it took was 3 letters: N-X-T.

3MB_NXT_20150327_00015,000 people sold that the venue in less than an hour. That was repeated through the night. Well, that 5,000 might as well be the 76,000 thousand at Wrestlemania because that was how much energy was flowing through the crowd. Corey Graves came out to introduce NXT to the crowd but he was speaking to the converted. We knew that the developmental promotion, the future of wrestling, were more than capable of being wrestling’s present. So the time for talking was over; after Jim Ross  – who had a front row seat – got up and waved his hat, ushering the crowd to calm down long enough to Graves to finish his speech, it was time to get to the fighting.
