So That Happened: #RAW Recap (08/24/15)

If we could be serious for a moment…

Last week, we were unable to do a RAW/Total Divas Recap due to a busy week in our personal lives. Our weeks are only going to get busier and busier, so instead of stopping recaps all together, we’re changing the format to make them quicker and easier to do. As fun as the full 3 Hour Narrative of RAW is, it’s incredibly time consuming to get tweets, gifs and memes for almost everything that happens on the show. This format will be toyed with within the coming weeks until we find something we’re comfortable with, but the RAW and Total Divas Recaps will still be entertaining and provide memes, gifs and YOUR Tweets.

Thanks for understanding. Now, onto the recap!

You Can Look, But You Can’t Sing:

At a TV Taping, Brie Bella tells Nikki Bella that WWE wants her to sing her own entrance music. Nikki immediately wants to do the same thing, thinking she is the better singer of the Bella Twins.

Snapshots: White and Gold (and Gold!)

In Snapshots, 3MBooth searches for images to share.

Between NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and SummerSlam, a trend started to appear. Bayley, The New Day and Seth Rollins had two things in common.

  1. They were all victorious in their matches: Bayley won the NXT Women’s Championship. The New Day won the WWE Tag Team Championship. Seth Rollins retained his WWE World Heavywright Championship. Oh, he also won the United States Championship!
  2. They were all wearing White and Gold ring attire!

which caused the Internet Artists to get their pens out and capture this moment in artist form!

3 Count: Cool for the SummerSlam

The Good, The Bad & The Cheesy

The biggest party of the Summer is here! And what’s a party without music? Nothing, that’s what! The WWE made an interesting choice with this year’s official SummerSlam theme: on the surface, “Cool for the Summer” or Demi Lovato don’t seem to fit with the WWE. But, after a quick look, “Cool for the Summer” is the perfect song for this year.

Here’s why:

3MB_WWE_SummerSlamLogoOff the bat, this song is catchy. Like, really catchy, not “burrowed into our brains after hearing it repeatedly on RAW for 3 hours” catchy. In the course of one RAW, the song went from being “that SummerSlam song” to “Cool for the Summer.” We’ll actually listen to this after the PPV is over. Continue reading →

I Was There: NXT Albany 5/16/2015

We’re looking forward to NXT: Takeover Brooklyn because it, quite possibly, marks the end of an era for NXT. The event, coming live from the Barclays Center, is as anticipated as Summerslam, which is taking place the next night at the Barclays, or RAW, which is taking place that Monday, also from Barclays. All of this means that NXT is less the developmental division of the WWE and more of an integral part of the WWE, especially on big weekends like Wrestlemania and SummerSlam.

3MB_NXTAlbany_20150516_0053So before NXT goes to the next level, let’s take a look at that last time we were fortunate enough to see NXT live, in Albany, NY. The Albany Armory is very different from the Barclays Center.  It’s stripped down venue compared to the WWE’s usual places: the seats are chairs on risers (or on the floor), the are no giant screens to display the action, there’s no booming sound system and there isn’t a lighting system. In fact, the “spotlight” was two guys working lights from the PA room. All of this makes for a show that promotes more wrestling than sports entertainment, fitting for an independent wrestling show or the WWE’s developmental division. But it doesn’t dampen the excite that the crowd has.
