In Highlight Reel, 3MB will check out funny and interesting wrestling videos.
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Back to the Future. Originally released on July 3, 1985, the film (and the franchise) have had a lasting influence in popular culture including wrestling. CM Punk has made references to Gray’s Sports Almanac; Zack Ryder shares his favorite moments via social media:
But the biggest BTTF fan is arguably Kushida. His ring gear is the wrestling equivalent of Marty McFly’s attire, complete with an orange life preserver. He even draws a watch on his wrist tape! It’s gotta be right at least twice a day.
As part of the Time Splitters with Alex Shelley, Kushida has displayed his fandom on several occasions. At Wrestle Kingdom 8, he and Alex Shelley made their ring entrance in a working Delorean!
How cool is that? There’s only one way to celebrate today. By watching the entire Back to the Future Trilogy! … or at least the first one. or at least this part.
Your kids are going to love it.
