But that was just the main event. It didn’t set the tone for the entire show; it matched the tone. Each match had the Ring of Honor wrestlers putting their best foot forward. The tag team champions reDragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) tried to show their opponents, the Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and Kushida), that they were the best tag team in wrestling. Both teams did homages to classic tag teams, like The Time Splitters version of the Doomsday Device, using a top rope dropkick instead of a clothesline:
or a Super Slice Bread #2 (Super = from the top rope. It’s Wrestling Science.)
But ultimately, reDragon prevailed. They responded with an homage to Demolition’s Demolition Decapitation.
and incorporated their own double team maneuver, Chasing the Dragon, a combination roundhouse kick and brainbuster.
Once that was hit, and O’Reilly followed up with a deeply cinched armbar submission, the Time Splitters had no option but to tap out.
