Santa with Muscles: Christmas Sweaters

In Santa with Muscles, ThreeManBooth talks about Wrestling related
items that may make great gifts during this Holiday Season.

Yesterday, we spotlighted 2 Santa Claus themed t-shirts for the wrestling fan on your Holiday shopping list. Well, depending on what part of the world you’re in, a t-shirt is not the best weather for this time of year. Luckily for the colder parts of world, there are wrestling themed Christmas sweaters!

Squared Circle Clothing took the idea of the Christmas sweater and infused it with elements of pro wrestling. Barbed Wire adorns the sweater instead of the tradtional tinsel. Tables, Chairs and Sledgehammers are artfully arranged. A Christmas tree stands in the middle of the ring with 2 people climbing it, as if it’s a ladder. There’s a spin on the name and catchphrase of the Holiday Season Christmasmania and Ho! Ho! Ho! along with two classic Wrestling phrases: A Winner is You from the classic NES videogame Pro Wrestling and “It’s Still Real to Me,” reworking it to refer to Santa Claus instead of Wrestling.

For those that prefer red and yellow instead of red and white, then Shirtgun Wedding is there for you. They not only have a Wrestling themed Christmas Sweater, they have a Hulk Hogan themed Christmas Sweater. Because when it comes crashing down and you got socks as a present again, what’s more comforting than looking down at your sweater and seeing that trademark blond handlebar mustache? Okay fine, a lot a things. Buy the sweater anyway.

Visit Squared Circle Clothing and Shirtgun Wedding to grab these sweaters. They have other awesome items for sale too but Christmas / Holiday sweaters are only fashionable during this time of the year. Plus, sweaters take longer to be made so they’re only for a limited time.

Memorabilia Lane: Santa with Muscles

In Memorabilia Lane, We’ll Discuss the Significance Some Kind of Collectible
(T-Shirt, Poster, Action Figure) has on us and its Relation to Wrestling.

Black Friday is the time of year where department stores adopt Hardcore rules: anything goes. Getting holiday presents for yourself your friends and family takes a backseat to Superkicking Granny in order to get the last toaster. Well, for your wrestling enthused friends and family, there are great gifts to get without having to leave your house! T-Shirt sites like BarberShopWindow, TurnbuckleTees and GimmickWrestlingTees are running Black Friday Deals. RF Video and Highspots are selling all sorts of things like DVDs and collectibles;  Wrestlezone has a great list of available deals to check out.

but for someone who is a fan of Wrestling and Christmas, there are 2 presents they are sure to love. TopRopeTuesday and NXTees do limited designs for only one week : they both came up with different spins on the Holiday Season: TopRopeTuesday combined El Santo and Santa Claus, both a play on words and – quite possibly – the poster from an unreleased Santo movie (he made 60 of them through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.). NXTees referenced wrestling of the 90’s, specifically the Attitude Era. Combining Austin 3:16 with Santa Claus gives you a St. Nick that delivers presents and lumps of coal like they’re Stone Cold Stunners. It doesn’t matter if you’re on the Naughty list or the Nice list, the bottom line is you’re getting something and you’re going to like it.

Grab these shirts while they are available!

Highlight Reel: Happy Thanksgiving!

In Highlight Reel, 3MB will look at funny and interesting wrestling videos

Survivor Series, the WWE’s fall classic Pay Per View, originally aired on Thanksgiving nights. Even though this tradition has stopped, you can still watch wrestling on Thursday nights! TNA Wrestling still airs its weekly show, and the Thanksgiving episode sometimes features a Turkey Bowl where the loser of the match has to wear a Turkey Suit. The WWE,, in addition to showcasing videos of the Gobbledy Gooker, has posted full length matches from Survivor Series past, including one of our favorites: WWF Champion Bret Hart versus Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship from Survivor Series 1992.

1992 was a breakout year for both these future Hall of Famers. Bret won the WWF Championship on October 12, 1992 (aka Canadian Thanksgiving) after spending the year redefining the Intercontinental Championship. He lost the title to The British Bulldog, his opponent and brother-in-law, at SummerSlam 1992 in the greatest SummerSlam match of all time. Shawn Michaels, meanwhile, emerged as a singles star, after dispensing of former tag team partner Marty Jannetty rather infamously. Re-christened “The Heartbreak Kid,” Michaels went on to capture the Intercontinental Championship from the British Bulldog. And by the mathematical properties of Wrestling, If Bulldog beat Bret, and Shawn beat Bulldog, then Shawn could beat Bret, right?

Wrestling logic can be dis-proven sometimes. Bret was the victor and, in the spirit of the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving parade, closed out the Pay Per View with Santa Claus!

3MB_SantaBretWe’re thankful for classic matches like this and Wrestling in general. But we’re most thankful for YOU, the 3MBooth-iverse!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody!

Highlight Reel: The Gobbledy Gooker

In Highlight Reel, 3MB will look at funny and interesting wrestling videos

The Survivor Series gave birth to two ideas. The first, a traditional tag team elimination match, can spotlight a Superstar if they emerge as the Sole Survivor; this year, Roman Reigns (and his spear) earned that title. The other idea was not so much born as it was hatched: at the 1990 Survivor Series, the Gobbledy Gooker emerged from an egg near ringside; he elicited some delight but mostly confusion across the Hartford Civic Center.

At least we think the Gobbledy Gooker is a he. Through the years, there have been rumors  that the Gobbledy Gooker is merely a costume worn by Superstars like Terry Taylor (from the Red Rooster to a turkey? Highly unlikely!), Hector Guerrero (because … Wikipedia? When’s that thing ever right?!?) and even former WWE Divas Champion Maryse! (Damn.)

But we believe the mascot of the Survivor Series is – on some level – real. And like the movie Ted, the fanfare around a giant turkey has died down, except for random guest appearances. Luckily, GG (that’s what his friends call him) has been gainfully employed at WWE Headquarters complete with a parking space, a cubicle, and TPS Reports.

GG even works out in the original WWE Performance Center: the Company Gym. Though his gym etiquette needs work (so many feather to clean up after) and with the exception of one “soaring” rivalry, life seems pretty good for the Gobbledy Gooker. To check out more of GG’s office life, check out these videos available at WWE.com or on the WWE’s YouTube playlist
