So That Happened: #RAW Recap (06/08/15)

RAW begins with John Cena

John Cena says The Champ Is Here.

John Cena says champions are defined by their will to win, bringing up Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, The Streak and the Money In The Bank ladder match. After hyping MITB, Cena starts to hype his match with Kevin Owens. Cena calls this the most anticipated rematch in WWE history, which is not for a championship but for an opportunity to state their claim.

John Cena mentions the fact that Kevin Owens thinks Cena’s time is up. Cena says his time isn’t up, it’s just getting started. Cena says he fights to prove that impossible is still a word and even fights for the people who chant “Cena Sucks.” After a mixed reaction, Cena says that no matter how they react to him, the WWE Universe realizes there is no safer bet than John Cena.

John Cena brings up Elimination Chamber and how everyone was talking about it. Cena says this Sunday at MITB, you will be excited, astounded, entertained and reminded that Cena is the standard bearer, the face that runs this place and that he is John Cena. John Cena gets interrupted by Kevin Owens.

Kevin Owens tells John Cena that all he’s doing is proving his point that Cena is delusional. Owens says Cena is delusional if he thinks he’ll be able to beat Owens at MITB this Sunday. Owens calls Cena delusional if he thinks people want to see him come out and deliver an open challenge for the U.S. Title. Owens says people have been watching Cena come out at the beginning of RAW for the past 10 years and he thinks they’re a little tired of it.

Kevin Owens suggests giving the WWE Universe something different: The NXT Title Open Challenge.

John Cena says Kevin Owens has a great idea with the NXT Title Open Challenge, saying that will be the first time the NXT Title is defended on RAW. Cena accepts Kevin Owens challenge.

Kevin Owens calls John Cena delusional again because Cena is fighting Owens this Sunday. Owens refuses to fight Cena tonight. Cena mocks Owens for not accepting his challenge, then mentions that when he does his United States Open Challenge, it open to anyone. After hyping New Orleans, Cena starts the John Cena U.S. Open Challenge instead of the NXT Open Challenge. Cena tells Owens that if he wants some, come get some.

Kevin Owens responds…

Kevin Owens suggests to John Cena that the next Superstar who comes out choose which title they want to fight for.

Neville comes down to the ring.

Neville tells John Cena that he would love to fight John Cena, someday. Neville turns his attention to Kevin Owens.
