John Cena thanks Nashville for the warm reception, then mentions his bad luck in the past week on RAW and Smackdown. Cena says he’s watched that footage every day since it happened, so he’s not in the best mood, but he thanks the WWE Universe for their energy tonight. Cena says that the WWE Universe’s energy is the reason he came back so early, but he might have come back too soon.
John Cena looks at his arm in a sling, then starts to doubt himself about coming back to early. Cena says that maybe he tried to be some kind of Superhero and that he might not deserve to be World Heavyweight Champion. Cena does a complete 180 and says he should be the World Heavyweight Champion because a Champion is made of resolve and toughness, not cheap parlor tricks like Alberto Del Rio.
John Cena says he’s not saying that Alberto Del Rio has no heart, but he is out here with an arm in a sling to say, that Del Rio doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Cena says that Survivor Series, he has the privilege to perform in his hometown in front of his family, and that there is a certain amount of excellence to be the World Heavyweight Champion. And that Survivor Series, Del Rio will find out, in a loud clear voice, that “The Champ Is Here.”
Alberto Del Rio comes out and mocks John Cena’s speech, saying that it was so good, it almost made him cry. Cena fires back by saying this Sunday, he’s gonna make Del Rio tap. Del Rio mocks Cena saying he’ll hold the title up Sunday, then asks Cena to hold the title up right now, using his bad arm.
John Cena tells Del Rio that all he needs to worry about is that he’ll be ready on Sunday. Del Rio agrees that Sunday, Cena will be ready…to be beaten, humiliated and embarrassed in front of his friends and family.
Alberto Del Rio tells John Cena that a real champion takes advantage of every opportunity, and that right now, he has a great opportunity in front of him. Before Del Rio attacks, Cen agrees with Del Rio, takes his sling off, then attacks him. John Cena almost hits Alberto Del Rio slips with the AA, but he slips out and escapes.
