So That Happened: #RAW Recap (12/29/14)

RAW begins with the return of Edge and Christian, announced by Tony Chimel.

Edge_Christian_Return_3MB Christian says he’s excited to be standing in a WWE ring for the last RAW of 2014 and tells Edge that they should do RAW E & C style. Edge likes the plan, and Christian reveals he wants to have a Peep Show, but Edge thinks it should be The Cutting Edge. Edge and Christian go back and forth on which show to do and Edge jokes that The Peep Show sounds like a show perverts would pay a nickel to watch in 1920s.

Christian says that’s what he’s going for, and Edge comes up with the idea of the first ever Cutting Edge Peep Show, with Seth Rollins as the guest.

Christian tells Edge that the WWE Universe doesn’t like Seth Rollins very much. Edge enthusiastically puts Seth Rollins in a match against Roman Reigns tonight. Christian tries do so the same thing, putting Rusev in a Champions vs. Champions match against Dolph Ziggler tonight, with both of them being completely naked.

Christian admits he went too far and suggests that maybe Lana is the only one naked. Christian tries to bring the WWE Universe back with a poll. Christian asks if they want to see Daniel Bryan and is met with loud “YES” Chants. Edge tells the WWE Universe that Daniel Bryan will address the WWE Universe on his future tonight. Edge and Christian decide to give Washington DC a treat with a 5 Second Pose.

Edge and Christian get ready to do the 5 Second Pose, but they’re interrupted.

Paul Heyman introduces himself to everyone, including the Peeps and Edgeheads. Heyman wonder why a man with a broken neck and a man with far too many concussions to ever wrestle again would swim in the shark infested waters that are inhabited by the reigning, defending Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brock Lesnar.

Paul Heyman dares Edge and Christian to make a move, then reminds them that one bad could place either one of them in a wheelchair. Heyman tells Edge and Christian that Brock Lesnar has no desire to break the neck or end the career of two guys whose careers are already over. Heyman calls Lesnar a conqueror who wants to penetrate the virgin neck of someone who is worthy like John Cena.

Paul Heyman hypes Brock Lesnar and John Cena’s Final Confrontation at the Royal Rumble, but John Cena interrupts them.

John Cena says the only reason why he doesn’t knock Brock Lesnar clean in 2015 is because he doesn’t want Lesnar to walk into the Royal Rumble with an excuse. Cena says he came out here with a gift and a resolution. His resolution is that he takes the WWE Championship off of Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

John Cena’s gift is for Paul Heyman. Cena grabs Paul Heyman, but Brock Lesnar tries to stop him. Cena tries to AA Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman narrowly escape as John Cena stares them down.

Match 01: Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler (Champion vs. Champion)

Dolph Ziggler hits the Fameasser on Rusev

Rusev stomps Dolph Ziggler in the corner until he gets disqualified.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler (via DQ)

Post-Match, Rusev puts Dolph Ziggler on the Accolade on the ropes.

Ryback comes out for the save.

Ryback Speaks:

Ryback says now that they got rid of the big ugly Russian (Rusev), Ryback wants to talk to the WWE Universe. Ryback thinks there’s been a misunderstanding between himself and the WWE Universe and why he stands here today.

Ryback explains that he was the guest bell ringer at a WWE Live Event when he was 12 years old. Ryback says he got his chance 10 years later as The Silverback on WWE’s Million Dollar Tough Enough.

After being eliminated from Tough Enough, Ryback fell into a deep depression and didn’t talk to his family for nearly a year. Ryback worked at a BBQ joint in the meantime and was in a negative state of mind and all he had was a stack of Wrestlemania DVDs in an empty apartment.

One day, Ryback came across the book, The Secret, which taught him about positivity and how positive the human mind really is. Ryback credits The Secret for changing his life, because he returned to wrestling and got re-signed by the WWE.

Ryback reminds the WWE Universe that he returned to WWE as Skip Sheffield, member of The Nexus. Unfortunately for Ryback, he broke his ankle in 3 places in Hawaii. Ryback continued to wrestle and broke his leg. Ryback shows off his scar, which is a reminder of how lucky he is to be in a WWE ring.

After two bad surgeries, and doctors telling him he would never wrestle again, Ryback was born and he returned to the WWE.

After a “Feed Me More” video package, Ryback turns his attention back to Rusev. Ryback says this isn’t going to be a USA vs. Russia thing. It’s going to be a Big Guy kicking Another Big Guy’s Ass Thing.

Ryback says he takes negative things and negative people, eats them and turns them into positives. Ryback leads the WWE Universe in a Feed Me More chant.

Match 02: Nikki Bella (w/ Brie Bella) vs. Natalya (w/ Tyson Kidd)

Natalya knocks Nikki Bella into Tyson Kidd’s arms.

Brie Bella yells at Tyson Kidd, allowing Nikki Bella to hit Natalya.

Nikki Bella hits the Rack Attack on Natalya.

Winner: Nikki Bella

Backstage: The Miz is talking with Damien Mizdow until Naomi thanks him for helping out with the agent. Naomi tells Miz she spoke with the agent and was surprised Miz was telling the truth. Miz is also surprised and accepts Naomi’s praise.

Match 03: The Miz and Mizdow vs. The Usos (Tag Team Championship)

Jimmy Uso clotheslines The Miz over the top rope.

The Usos hit The Miz with a double atomic drop.

Damien Mizdow does his own atomic drop.

The Miz catches Jimmy Uso before the “Flying Uso.”

The Miz does a Figure Four to Jimmy Uso, but Jimmy Uso breaks the hold.

Jimmy Uso does a submission. Mizdow breaks the hold. The Miz shoves Mizdow into a Superkick. The Miz ends up getting Superkicked. Jey Uso goes for the Uso Splash, but Miz gets his knees up, then hits the Skull Crushing Finale.

The Miz gets hit with a couple more Superkicks.

Jimmy Uso hits the Uso Splash on The Miz.

Winners and NEWWWWWWW Tag Team Champions: The Usos

Post-Match, Naomi comes out to celebrate with The Usos Jerry Lawler enters the ring and asks The Usos how it feels to leave 2014 the Tag Team Champions. Jey Uso says it feels good and that they have a lot of JRs BBQ and champagne. Lawler asks about Jimmy and Naomi, Jimmy tells Lawler family is everything and they’re always on the same page. Jimmy Uso says they played The Miz.
