Wisely, this was the Showstopper’s one and only time in the recording booth, realizing that his true was was between the ropes; still his gravelly vocals are worthy of a listen. In the hands of an actual musician, “Sexy Boy” becomes cool yet remains as cocky as the Heartbreak Kid ever was. Its groove has the HBK attitude but more soul than Sweet Chin Music. It’s fun. It’s flirty. And I’m talking about both the song and the charismatic Clinebell who came up with this arrangement for his YouTube Cover Series.
