Labor Day weekend is also DragonCon weekend. In Atlanta, all sorts of fans converge to celebrate comics. In wrestling speak, it’s comparable to either The Royal Rumble or The RAW after Wrestlemania. All bets are off when it comes to DragonCon. And you never know what you are going to see there. And there is cosplay galore! including for wrestling!
Here is the Hart Foundation, Jim the Anvil Neidhart, complete with beard and Bret the Hitman Hart, complete with tattoos? Ah, whatever, it’s DragonCon! Unfortunately, we were unable to attend DragonCon in person but we have the next best thing: Pat Loika. Pat’s a fantastic photographer (and a good friend of ours). Just take a look at some of the wrestling cosplay photos he posted on his Instagram
Bret Hart, Ricky Steamboat, Sergeant Slaughter and Macho Man Randy Savage were well represented. It seems that the 80’s era of the WWF is the favorite of the DragonCon community. Arguably, one of the best costumes was a throwback to The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Virgil and Sensational Sherri Martel.
You can check out even more of Pat’s photos on his Instagram page or his Flickr Album. Plus, you should check out his photoset from Wrestlemania 31 weekend. And, if you see Pat at a Con, be sure to request a selfie with him. You can be part of the ultimate selfie collection!
Update: Pat sent us Rhys Martin‘s photo that of a ever bigger group photo of even more cosplay wrestlers!
