Zach Looks Back: ECW December to Dismember

Daivari versus Tommy Dreamer was next. This one had a bit of a feud behind it, moreso than the other matches. But this match is most notable for the Great Khali. He acted as a manager of sorts Daivari. Yes you read that right: Khali was Daivari’s manager. This is the same Khali who would become WORLD CHAMPION a year later. Anyways, Daivari wins with a roll up, and a handful of tights. For good measure, Khali delivers a tree bomb to Dreamer. I know Dreamer is the heart of ECW – new and old – but, c’mon now.

Following we have Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly vs. Kevin Thorn and Ariel. First thing you will notice here is that I’m pretty sure Ariel forgot underwear during this match. If that’s not reason to put her name in the WWE search bar, not sure what else is.

[3ManBooth Note: After EXTENSIVE research, we can confirm that Ariel is wearing underwear, albeit very revealing underwear. But you don’t have to take our word for it.]

Ariel actually goes for a choke with her foot against Kelly’s neck in the corner and Styles and Tazz are left speechless. Another thing to note is that – at the time – all four Superstars were heels. Why was this match was put together? is still beyond me and Ariel’s underwear. Knox walked out on Kelly Kelly, leaving Thorn and Ariel to get the win. A “CM Punk” chant broke out at this point. Yes, that was happening even then. Instead of the Straight Edge Superstar, the Sandman appeared to KO Thorn with a Singapore cane. You’d think that the Sandman would get his own match on a WWECW PPV, but that was not to be. He didn’t get a singles match until the following year, when If you wanted a Sandman singles match on PPV, you’d have to wait a bit until he fought Carlito at the Great American Bash in 2007.
